Worcester Credit Union Members and Staff Join Forces to Support University of Massachusetts Medical School Breast Cancer Research and Provide Patient Care Items at their Clinical Partner, UMass Memorial Healthcare:

The Worcester Community is fortunate to have access to excellent local treatment for breast cancer. In October, our members, staff and board of directors worked together to raise funds to support Worcester’s University of Massachusetts Medical School Foundation and their affiliate, UMass Memorial Medical Center.

Overall we collected $1,516 in contributions which were divided evenly to support breast cancer research at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, and patient care/treatment at UMass Memorial Healthcare. Patient care funds provide comfort items such as chap stick, eye masks and blankets, and continuing education for caregivers who support patients in treatment.

The University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester is home to leading Breast Cancer researchers, bringing the latest in cancer treatment to Worcester. UMass Memorial Medical Center treatment teams are comprised of breast cancer specialists skilled at serving the individualized needs of breast cancer patients. Area patients can stay close to home, friends and family during treatment, avoiding the discomfort and expense of traveling to another city.

Our heartfelt thank you goes out to our members, staff and board of directors for supporting our local medical school and hospital center’s important cancer research and patient care.
