Today, Governor Charlie Baker issued a “stay at home” advisory effective Tuesday, March 24 at 12:00 noon through April 7, and clarification on the continued operation of essential services.
Governor Baker has identified and published a list of fourteen critical infrastructure sectors, or Essential Services, which may continue to operate. This list is based on federal guidance and amended to reflect the needs of Massachusetts’ unique economy. Financial services activities, including the transactional operations of credit unions and their employees, are considered essential services.
As a result, we here at Worcester Credit Union remain committed to being here to serve you through this uncertain time. Our drive-up tellers are OPEN. Hours for the drive-up effective Wednesday, March 25, 2020 will be:
- 8:30 am–5:00 pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday,
- 8:30 am–6:00 pm on Thursday, and
- Saturday 9:00 am until noon.
At this time, our drive-up drawer (lane one) has been fixed, although we can’t say for how long. The part we needed for the repair actually came from another institution that remodeled their drive up and removed their old drawer system. Thankfully our service company was able to get the part we needed from that unit since they are no longer making the parts for the system we have. So, we are not sure how long it will work for us but for now we are thankful we are able to get it fixed for now and reopen it.
We will continue to keep our lobby closed to protect the health of both you, our valued members, as well as the employees of Worcester Credit Union and their families. Appointments may be requested for services unable to be performed at the drive up.
Our electronic services, online banking, mobile banking, BillPay, Telephone banking, mobile deposit, ATMs and the variety of options available to you through those channels remain operational 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Despite a reduced workforce onsite, all Worcester Credit Union employees remain working and are here either at drive up, via electronically or by telephone to assist you.
We know in these uncertain times additional stress is not appreciated. We will continue to assist you in every way possible and understand this time is challenging and uncertain. Rest assured knowing we are here and still committed to serving you and your financial well-being. Keep in mind we are still offering the Member Assistance Loan for those of you negatively impacted by COVID-19 and need access to funds to support your day to day expenses. The Member Assistance Loan offers you a loan of up to $2,500 for 1 year, with your first payment not due for up to 60 days and rates start as low as 6%.
