A Bed For Every Child

Last year, the Telegram highlighted that there had been a 50% increase in the homeless rate across Massachusetts over the course of just a single year. To add to such a tragic statistic, that includes a significant increase in the number of children affected by homelessness.
To help do our part, Worcester Credit Union's membership and staff recently came together to collect bedding, stuffed animals, and other items for the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless and its Bed For Every Child program.
To all that participated, thank you! Every item donated is something that the child receiving it may never forget.
On a more somber note, we should also reflect on why homelessness exists in the first place. From our perspective, it is a symptom of the deeper issues facing our communities: poverty, family instability, lack of affordable housing, health issues, substance abuse (to name a few).
Needless to say, we will be supporting the Coalition again - and to each and every one of you out there that wants to keep making a difference - we have a lot of work ahead of us.
